Create a more robust service management system using the best of ITIL®, ISO 20000-1, COBIT® and CMMI®-SVC. Although ITIL’s popularity as a framework for IT service management (ITSM) continues to increase, a number of organisations have realised that its approach is sometimes not quite enough on its own. Many are already working towards compliance with ISO 20000-1 — the international standard for ITSM — but, with the likes of COBIT 5 and CMMI-SVC to consider as well, it can be difficult to determine the best route to take. Until now, there has been little guidance on how to merge these frameworks in order to produce a robust enterprise philosophy for service delivery. Pragmatic Application of Service Management – The Five Anchor Approach provides that guidance. Product overview Completely updated by service management gurus Suzanne D. Van Hove and Mark Thomas, the second edition of Pragmatic Application of Service Management – The Five Anchor Approach provides comprehensive guidance on creating an integrated system based on COBIT 5, ISO 20000, ITIL and CMMI-SVC. This practical book enables service managers to immediately adapt and deploy the guidance, and quickly improve their ITSM function. It now features a short chapter on applying the ‘five anchors’ approach to integrating service management frameworks in very small enterprises (VSEs), and contains four new ‘caselets’ (short case studies). Packed with instructive illustrations, helpful tables and the authors’ very own five anchor approach, this book is ideal for anyone considering adopting, adapting or merging COBIT5, ISO/IEC 20000, ITIL and CMMI-SVC. Better ITSM through integrated best practice Written by service management gurus Suzanne D. eBay: The Ultimate Step- By-Step Beginners Guide to Sell on eBay and Build a Successful Business Empire from Scratch
Discover The Ultimate Step-By-Step Beginners Guide to Sell on eBay and Build a Successful Business Empire From Scratch and Live The Life Of Your Dreams Today Back in the late 90s, at the beginning of the dot com bubble, a man named Pierre Omidyar founded an online platform called AuctionWeb. Back then it was kind of an online fair for collectors who bought and sold various items online via bidding and auction. But within a decade, ActionWeb transformed itself, rebranded as eBay and become the Giant multi-billion dollar e-commerce site where literally anyone, from 20-year-old college kid to 40-year-old mums can sell any kinds of goods online. eBay soon became THE platform for professional online retailers worldwide spanning its operations in more than 30 countries. For the past two decades, millions of people are using eBay to earn some extra cash or to sell unused items which could be useful to others who are looking for it. There are people whose first introduction to eBay happened when they were clearing their room and found old vinyl LP records and when they used eBay to sell them, they found out it was worth more than $500 You would be amazed to know that how much an old He-man action figure is worth on eBay, or those Pok mon cards that you once used to collect but totally forgot about it. Some vintage collectors' items are worth $1000-$20000 now and if you own such rare items, thousands of dollars are just few mouse clicks away But all of these are just the tip of a huge iceberg. This is what people do when they want to sell second-hand items online. But eBay can offer more than that. It is a platform to build your own empire of successful e-commerce. When huge internet enthusiast Pierre had the idea of eBay (the known myth is that his wife influenced him to come up with this), his goal was to fill the gap in the market, a gap between potential buyers and seller. He wanted to build a network so that both parties can communicate to each other freely and easily without any third party in between. So he built eBay (AuctionWeb) as a level playing field where similar minded people could come and share their interests and exchange products with cash. By the time Pierre came up with eBay, he was already a successful millionaire who sold his business to Microsoft and yet to have his 30th birthday So if you are confident and passionate enough, you can also become a successful entrepreneur, a trusted online retailer whose annual earning is a six figure digit (why not seven?). This book will guide you through a step by step process on the methods of selling, from basics to pro. You will learn secrets from already established sellers, tips, and tricks for successful selling and much more which will help you to become a super-seller in the eBay universe. Here Is The Overview Of The Lessons You Will Learn What is eBayHow to Get Ready to SellWhat To Do Before SellingSome Tips and StrategiesFew Insights and SecretsHow to Stay Safe from ScamsAnd Much More... Making History Count

Making History Count

Cambridge University Press

Making History Count introduces the main quantitative methods used in historical research. The emphasis is on intuitive understanding and application of the concepts, rather than formal statistics; no knowledge of mathematics beyond simple arithmetic is required. The techniques are illustrated by applications in social, political, demographic and economic history. Students will learn to read and evaluate the application of the quantitative methods used in many books and articles, and to assess the historical conclusions drawn from them. They will also see how quantitative techniques can open up new aspects of an enquiry, and supplement and strengthen other methods of research. This textbook will encourage students to recognize the benefits of using quantitative methods in their own research projects. The text is clearly illustrated with tables, graphs and diagrams, leading the student through key topics. Additional support includes five specific historical data-sets, available from the Cambridge website.

Project Skills describes the best of the accepted project management techniques, taking the guesswork out of deciding which ones to apply at which stage. The subject of project management has developed over the ages into a fairly precise set of techniques, definitions and practices that are applicable to running projects. More and more projects are being handled by non-specialist project managers. Elbeik and Thomas present a practical and accessible guide to managing projects of all sizes, not just large scale ones. It also presents essential 'people' skills that are vital to making a project succeed. These include leadership skills, motivating others to deliver, communicating, holding meetings and how to manage change. The New Skills Portfolio is a groundbreaking new series, published in association with the Industrial Society, which re-defines the core management skills managers and team leaders need to be competitive. Each title is action-focused blending 20th century management initiatives/trends with a new flexible skills portfolio for managers constantly experiencing and managing organizational and marketplace change. The Industrial Society is one of the largest public training providers in the UK. It has over 10,000 corporate members.
