Write & Draw Math: Kindergarten: Open-Ended Math Problems to Develop Flexible Thinking Skills
Help young children develop critical thinking skills with open-ended problems, for which there is no one correct answer. Working in small groups, children use readily available manipulatives to explore various solutions and describe their answers through writing and drawing. Each activity page can be reused multiple times, using larger numbers as children become more adept at working with small numbers. A fun and engaging way to promote mathematical thinking
Write & Draw Math: Grade 1: Open-Ended Math Problems to Develop Flexible Thinking Skills
How many ways can you answer a math question? In this book filled with open-ended problems, there is no one correct answer. Children learn to look at the same math problem in different ways and solve it using manipulatives, drawing, or writing. Because there is no single correct answer, each reproducible activity page can be reused multiple times as children's math skills grow throughout the year. A fun and engaging way to promote mathematical thinking
Write & Draw Math: Grade 2: Open-Ended Math Problems to Develop Flexible Thinking Skills

They try different methods to solve the same math problem, using manipulatives, drawing, or writing. Because there is no single correct answer, each reproducible activity page can be reused multiple times as children's math skills develop throughout the year. A fun and engaging way to promote mathematical thinking

This book provides a broad range of fiction and nonfiction passages that help students in the primary grades develop the skills necessary to excel on high-stakes writing tests.Teaching and testing writing skills is a hot topic for good reason: Educators across the country are under the gun to prepare students to perform well in high-stakes tests. While students are taught important writing skills, they typically lack experience in taking high-stakes writing tests—a significantly different skill set. This book is designed to help prepare elementary students for the high-stakes writing tests used throughout the United States. Each lesson provides a paragraph on a topic. Students then answer questions about the reading sample that are written in standardized test format and based on released test questions. The lessons can be used in two ways: as short writing lessons in the classroom or library for an entire class, or as independent practice exercises to accustom students to the format of standardized test. Students will receive invaluable practice in basic writing skills including spelling, grammar, sentence structure, organization and focus, and word choice.
