Inspired by in content and design by my son living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, we set out to create a fun space to encourage making time to reflect daily. It has been proven time and again how deeply expressions of Gratitude impact our outlook, mood, and overall joy. Finding things to be thankful for can feel like a task when presented blank or lined pages. We wanted to make it fun, quick, and accessible. Reading Affirmations was an integral component of what our son noticed that helped his self-confidence. We knew that affirmations must be included ... but how could Positive Coping Skills go unmentioned. Coping skills are the tools needed when emotions are overwhelming and circumstances are confusing. Bringing together these powerful practices in this video-game themed workbook was designed with the Neurodivergent and Autism community in mind, but this book is suited for all gender and ages. Khalil shares some of his difficulties but then finds himself having to answer a far more important question. Our thirteen year old son guided the crafting of this book and played a fundamental role in explaining the core feelings behind his anxiety and fears of his youth. Not only does he embrace puzzle pieces, he also helped design the cover.
