Michael Boiano

Autumn Garden is a collection of tanka poems, written by Michael Boiano. Michael writes about longing, solitude, nature and struggle with humor, insight, sensitivity and a "wabi-sabi" sensibility. His poems are written in traditional 5-7-5-7-7 form with a melodic rhythm rich with deeper meanings and fleeting impressions inspired by his love of nature and by his daily struggles to survive in Thailand. Each of his poems is a miniature that creates a little universe of its own, a place to stay for a while to ponder in silence.

A selection of Japanese-style tanka poems penned by Michael Boiano under his own name and under the pen-name Aziz while living in Japan and Thailand. Most have appeared in various little journals in Japan.
