Es scheint vermessen zu sein, ein Lehrbuch über aktuelle Theoriediskurse Soz- ler Arbeit vorzulegen, angesichts dessen, dass im Rahmen Sozialer Arbeit allem Anschein nach „im Zusammenhang mit der Theoriefrage so gut wie nichts klar“ (Rauschenbach/Züchner 2002a: 141) ist. Nicht einmal über die Benennung des Gegenstandsbereiches, ob nun als soziale Arbeit (klein geschrieben) oder Soziale Arbeit (groß geschrieben) oder doch Sozialpädagogik, gibt es Einigkeit. D- noch müssen Studierende, besonders in den neuen Masterstudiengängen, sich einen Überblick über die Diskussion verschaffen, um in dieser begründet eine eigene Position beziehen zu können. Vor dieser Problematik standen auch wir Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Fachhochschulen Fulda, Koblenz, Potsdam und Wiesbaden sowie der Uni K- lenz, als wir gemeinsam im Rahmen eines Bund/Länder-Kommissionsprojektes den berufsbegleitenden Masterstudiengang Soziale Arbeit (MAPS) auf der Basis eines blended-learning Konzeptes zu entwickeln begannen. Grundüberlegung bei der Konstruktion all unserer online Module in MAPS ist es, keine Lehrbriefe oder Lernprogramme ins Netz zu stellen, sondern – wie die Abkürzung MAPS schon andeutet – eher „Lernlandschaften“ mit dazu gehörigen „Landkarten“ zu pro- zieren, in denen sich die Studierenden auf der Basis individueller oder grupp- bezogener Lernvereinbarungen selbständig sich bildend bewegen können.

Es wird ein Set von konkreten Bürgerkompetenzen beschrieben, dass als Ausgangspunkt sowohl für curriculare und konzeptionelle als auch für empirische Arbeit dienen kann.
