In line with the Department of the Air Force's (DAF's) objective of enhancing technical capabilities across its civilian workforce, the authors of this report address challenges in determining DAF's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) talent needs for this workforce, such as tracking the supply of such talent and identifying potential gaps in technical competencies.

The authors apply the Women, Peace, and Security framework to a fictional scenario of a Category 5 hurricane disaster response along the U.S.-Mexico border to demonstrate how disasters are experienced inequitably by different demographic groups. Through this case study, the authors reveal the existing knowledge base, associated data gaps, and process gaps and structural assumptions that limit effective disaster response.

In this report, the authors describe the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) officer professional military education system, review how it operates, compare it with civilian educational institutions, analyze effects of possible changes, and identify opportunities to further align the system to DoD's needs. The report contains detailed descriptive information about each educational institution in the system.

He learns it never hurts to have a friendly reminder that who youre meant to be is found in who you are.

"Who is looking at, listening to and leaning on whom? And what is left of looking, listening and leaning in what is ironically referred to as the post ultimate glade? Thompson, with understated assertiveness, doesn't answer these questions, but the poems in The Visitor's Guest changed the way I had to walk around the block this morning. Thompson's writing opens up a space with which I'm half familiar - perhaps it's the sense of honesty which underlies his slanted lyrical stance - but which continues to surprise. Many of these poems engage with 'love', as a perception, as a verb, but to say so underestimates them. Visceral, tangential, with a genuine sense of belief / refusal to believe. Nathan Thompson mixes process and poetics with a dry wit, to produce texts that hold the reader's hand through landscapes of the tangential (with occasional diversions back to the straight and narrow). This first collection juxtaposes prose poems with more traditional verse idioms, to create a whole that can be read either as a kind of disjunct musical narrative or as a collection of free-standing associative post-lyrics.
