Voodoo is a vast family tree with roots running deep into the history of the African peoples, its branches ever growing and renewing, while its fruits are bountiful and fertile with seeds. Although its branches and offshoots go by many names, Voodoo is its most common and popular. In the 21st century Voodoo practitioners are found all over the world; from its origins West Africa, to Haiti where it fuelled the Revolution, in New Orleans where Tradition adapted to an urban environment, in Rio de Janeiro where it merged with European Witchcraft, and in the UK in Brixton and Dalston, where the African population of London are concentrated, and Bristol, which continued to operate as a port for slave ships long after British government officially outlawed the practice. We number in the hundreds of millions, and our numbers continue to grow.

There is far more to the Baphomet then mere idolatry; its angel-devil zo morphic hermaphroditic idol, with its flaming torch between its horns, conceals the Illuminated formulae of the Beast and his Scarlet Woman. It is the symbol of those primordial power zones whose colour is blood red, and such mysteries as are served in Tantric rites of the black goddess Kali, whose talisman is blood and whose totem is the goat. Symbolising the conjunction in Capricorn of Yesod (Luna) and Tiphareth (Sol) ie the solar eclipse or black sun (Black Son, Antichrist), it is the harbinger of Apocalypse, Opening the Way to the Black Aeon, and the embodiment of the Left Hand Path.
