Lemar was yelling and crying. The whole class looked and found it in the trash Instead of crying what can she do? AS a preschool teacher, I often help my children overcome their strong emotions. I admit it is a very hard task. Through experience, i came to learn that overcoming tantrums is an ongoing learning process for both the teacher and the student. It all come down to replacing the old behaviour with a new one. Ideally, tantrum times are not teaching moments. therefore, teaching through reflection and example is a very safe and proactive practice.You will see how the author brushes through the tantrum, giving less attention to the undesired behavior.
