These meditations focus on the Book of Acts. This bible book is the story of the Gentile Church beginning. The 28 meditations are chapter by chapter. This is what Christianity is all about. The rest of Paul's writings are how this fledgling group grew. This group lacked leadership maturity, issues with the Jews (who thought they were the only chosen ones), and more. Now, this growth has become a forest of trees. Each with its own distinctiveness where, as in the beginning, holding to the true gospel is still a challenge.

Names for God were used when one experienced His power. Many times an altar was built and the place name made. Many people use the name of God, but not from experience. Meditating on the names of God enables a person to consider the power there is in the name. Perhaps even desire to experience Him in a relationship in which He is the power.

Laypersons are people who have knowledge of the world but not necessarily theology. Many commentaries are designed for students of the word and go over the head of most. Using the A-Z model creates an expectation of simplicity. The attributes of God discussed are designed to engage and expand the knowledge and experience gained from life.

This is the 3rd in the Series - Reading Scripture with Children and Adults. The subtitle 'From Birth to Glory' is because the first book is Acts and the last is Revelation. the beginning and end of the church as we know it. The project goal is to get children back to reading scripture. It has also been used for evangelistic purposes. Why argue over points when the Holy Spirit can do the job through the reading of scripture. Revelation has some notes to help guide the reader along with other scriptures to add to the understanding. This is a good read for ESL learners as well. The headings are based on the NIrV but are not limited to the scripture read. Reading section by section allows for questions to be pursued. There is no time limit and questions may not follow the book. This is to be encouraged. If you are doing a study in your church or group this can be an added asset because it systematically follows the scripture. Staying focused on the scripture may bring other theologies back to a focal point. Pick the group of books that interest you and systematically work through them with a lot of preparation. The questions have already been made.

Reading Scripture with Children and Adults is the overall project goal and name. Questions for each book of the New Testament have been made. Due to the largess of book it has been partitioned into three volumes. these are only questions, so it like a workbook. Children read the scripture, alone, with a friend. or an adult. After reading each section, questions are asked. There are no right or wrong answers. there are thoughtful responses or added questions. The initial questions can stimulate many others. do not be in a rush to read the book. Meander a bit and ask questions from those who are well-versed in scripture for answers which are difficult to find.

A teacher's manual is important for those who are new to flipped learning. This manual is the key to teaching the modules in this series. Each module has the same structure. This manual has a walk-through of the videos associated with the Business module. It is available as a separate book, but used as an example. There are 10 in the series, each with a homepage, quizzes, and video links. All 10 are also available in one volume and has the Teacher's Manual included.

You can be an evangelist without any training. That is because scripture has all the words you need and a helper promised to you if you would use it. This is a book of questions specifically designed to engage children with scripture. There are no right or wrong answers. There is no limit to adding questions, even off-topic ones. For those who want to know about scripture at a deeper level, this is a great book to begin the journey. This book has been used to reach searching neighbors who are not interested in church, but enjoy the companionship of reading together. Pastor Dr. Paul R. Friesen has been using this as an English Church for children. It is an ESL tool and most of the students speak English well. There are unlimited ways to use this material. It is the Holy Spirit who reaches each reader. Using the NIrV, with an English level of 3rd grade, it is easy to read, but the questions people have will challenge your knowledge. Spend an hour a week with your group and you will discover the questions go in many directions. Encourage all questions, especially ones about God or the reading. Though this has only the Gospels, the rest of the New Testament books will be published not far in the future. Be sure to watch for them. They are clustered into Pauline Epistles and General Epistles plus Revelation. The goal is to have similar books for the Old Testament. That will be in the more distant future.
