Happy Meat, Humane Animal Research, and Other Myths applies these insights to another form of mass violence: the many ways people harm animals. Each of the first eight chapters discusses how people use a particular method of moral disengagement to feel better about harming animals. The last two chapters highlight the myths that have been developed in this regard, including the Myth of Happy Meat and the Myth of Humane Animal Research. These myths perpetuate the attitudes and actions of modern sexists and racists, further legitimizing their actions. Letztere will er dem Priester der Skidi als Blutopfer f r den Morgenstern anbieten, um f r die Kiowa neue und starke Freunde gegen die Lakota zu gewinnen.Der Umstand das Wei es Gras nun eine Lakota ist, macht sie f r diesen zu einem sehr willkommenen Opfer.So ist auch der Frieden in den Schwarzen Bergen zwischen den Sicangu und den Witapaha kaum noch zu bewahren.

Nur schwer gelingt es den Sichangu den vernichtenden Schlag, welchen die Skidi gegen sie f hrten, zu verwinden. Ohne die unz hligen Krieger, welche im Pr riefeuer und dem anschlie enden Pfeilhagel der Pawnee ihr Leben verloren, ist es fraglich, ob das zusammengeschrumpfte Volk, was vornehmlich nur noch aus Alten, Frauen und Kindern besteht, berhaupt als ein solches berleben wird.Medicine Wolf, Grey Eyes und Steinkopf, die sich mit ihren Familien aus tiefer Verbundenheit zu Sechs Hufe somit auch den wenigen berlebenden Kriegern der Sichangu angeschlossen haben, wachsen langsam, aber stetig in ihr neues Volk hinein und lernen sehr schnell, ihren Platz zu behaupten.Moskito, der noch junge, jedoch beraus charismatische H uptling der Sichangu, erw hlt sich sieben Krieger. Gemeinsam mit diesen will er nicht nur Rache nehmen, sondern er muss vor allem die gestohlenen Mustangs zur ckerobern, ohne die eine weitere Existenz des Volkes infrage gestellt ist.W hrend sich die Krieger auf dem "Unreinen Pfad" befinden, nimmt dieser eine unerwartete Entwicklung und dabei tritt besonders ein junger Krieger aus ihrer Mitte hervor, Tusweca, die Libelle. Anf nglich, obwohl er Moskito, Sechs Hufe, Medicine Wolf und die anderen Krieger begleiten darf, ist er nur als voreiliger und verliebter Tunichtgut verschrien. Schnell wird aber klar, nachdem Tusweca ber sich hinauswachsen muss, dass weit mehr in ihm steckt, als man erwartet. Selbst Medicine Wolf, der nie ein gutes Wort f r ihn findet, da Tusweca ein Auge auf Kleine Kr he, seine Tochter geworfen hat, muss in besonders gef hrlichen Situationen dessen ungew hnliche Qualit ten erkennen. W hrend die acht Sichangu die D rfer der Skidi gnadenlos heimsuchen, hinterlassen sie eine blutige Spur.Unterdessen erwartet Blue Bird ihr erstes Kind und auch Tanzender Kessel erkennt, dass das Leben f r sie noch viele Hindernisse und neue Erfahrungen bereith lt.Im, Mond Wenn Die Pr rier ben Bl hen' kehren die Krieger unter Moskito heim in ihre Tipis.
