This little recipe book contains some of the best recipes from Peaks Island and other islands' families, old and new. The idea of a cookbook was started years ago by the Ladies Legion Auxiliary (Post 142) on Peaks Island.

A lovely book that will delight both children and the adults that read the verses to them and comment on the accompanying photographs. The author lives on Peaks Island in Maine and the book talks about what one can expect to see "on an island." The photographs are from a local, professional photographer, and are primarily Casco Bay area scenes, including Peaks Island.

He wants to take care of the bird but his mother says, "No " This is the first story in the "He Came from Maine" series, a collection of stories about the life of an island family. This book is meant to be read to children. It is written in 'adult' language and meant to be shared.
