Choroby stawu skroniowo-żuchwowego to termin określający szereg bolesnych i niebolesnych zaburzeń dotyczących mięśni żucia, stawu skroniowo-żuchwowego i struktur z nim sąsiadujących.Etiologia b lu w stawie skroniowo-żuchwowym jest przedmiotem dyskusji. Wsp lczesne teorie etiologiczne rozwoju TMD uwzględniają r żne czynniki zewnętrzne i wewnętrzne.Wiele kontrowersji budzi rola okluzji w etiologii TMD.

Oral cancer is one of the most prevalent and the 10th familiar cause of death. The cause of oral squamous cell carcinoma is multifactorial,1/3 of all cancer-related deaths were caused by incorrect human behaviors such as smoking, consumption of alcohol, poor diet quality and physical inactivity whereas other dietary factors were linked to reduced risk including consumption of fruits and vegetables, legumes, unsaturated fats, adequate intakes of vitamins and minerals, and dietary intake of bioactive phytochemicals. However, the antioxidation power of dietary antioxidants maintains cell membrane integrity and protects DNA from damage. In conclusion, it is important to consider the diet and nutritional planning for patients in the prevention of cancer, palliative care setting, focusing on foods and supplements that provide cancer fighting nutrients, reduce oxidative stress and inflammation can help overall quality of life. Therefore a comprehensive approach to adequate nutrition is very important for cancer prevention.

The introduction of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) specifically dedicated to imaging the maxillofacial region heralds a true paradigm shift. The unprecedented interest in CBCT from all fields of dentistry is because it has created a revolution in maxillofacial imaging - facilitating the transition of dental imaging from 2D to 3D images and expanding the role of imaging from diagnosis to image guidance of operative and surgical procedures via third part applications software.

Temporo-mandibular disorders are frequent and wide spread in general population. The subject of TMJ pain and dysfunction is complex. The reliability of a complex joint such as that of the jaw is the result of a stable interaction of soft tissue and bony structures. In spite of its daily exposure to wear and tear, simple changes in the TMJ are rare. Trauma, internal derangement with conceivable sequel and inflammation are the most mutual forms of pathologic conditions. The real causal factors and correct diagnosis should be established in order to provide appropriate management. Signs and symptoms may be specific or nonspecific. The strong relationship between articular and muscular disorders makes accurate diagnosis difficult. Substantial improvements have been made in our diagnostic and imaging capabilities, and some treatment advances have been helpful in the long-term management of these common disorders. The general radiologist is frequently challenged to manage the diagnostic pathway and to provide a good basis for planning the proper therapeutic strategy.
