Captain Yancy Freeman from Mississippi leads a Confederate cavalry unit far behind enemy lines in northwestern Virginia. He is badly wounded. He is found by Scarlett Anderson Jones, who is originally from Alabama, and she nurses him back to health. They fall in love, Scarlett becomes pregnant and then they have to find a way back to Mississippi on foot.

This book contains three stories. "Double Revenge" has Bret Chapel being forced into a gunfight and killing a young man. The young man's father wants revenge and hires men to kill Bret. Finally, Bret has enough and takes the fight to the father. "Executioner's Revenge" - during a bank robbery a woman is killed. Her husband hires his brother-in-law (known as the Executioner) to go after the men and kill them. "Unforeseen Revenges" - a mail order bride marries a rich rancher. When she has a miscarriage their relationship changes. She is forced to start killing people to keep her new found wealth.

This is the fifth book in the "Crazy Runner - Trailblazer" series.In this book Crazy Runner helps the Redcoats at the beginning of the French and Indian War. He also captures an escaped prisoner, solves an Indian curse, rescues a family and his step-son Caleb becomes a Cherokee brave.

This book contains two stories on the subject of revenge and set in the early 1870s."Revenge of the Forgotten" concerns a family who turns to robbing carpetbagger banks after the War between the States. One member of the family gets caught and the family does not rescue him, so he seeks revenge."Revenge That Lingers" is about a young man who is bullied when he is young. He grows up while on a trail drive and two years later seeks his revenge.

This book introduces a young man who, as an indentured servant on a Carolina plantation, made money for his master as a superb cross-country runner. The Cherokee have named him "Crazy Runner" because he shows no fear when he runs and is faster than any Cherokee brave. In 1750 he runs away from the plantation and learns to live off the land. He is befriended by the Cherokee who eventually accept him as a warrior. He leaves the Cherokee to explore "Kaintuck". During this exploration, he has encounters with the Creek and Shawnee Indians, leads some white settlers to a valley in Kaintuck where they can settle, stops an Indian massacre, and rescues some whites captured by the Creek.

This is the third book in this series. In this book Crazy Runner befriends a group of stranded people who want to settle in "Kaintuck". He trains them for the journey, educates them on what life will be like, and then leads them to a valley where they can settle.

This is the second book in the "Crazy Runner - Trailblazer" series. It follows the exploits of a young man who becomes a trailblazer in the 1750s. In this book he rescues some women and children from hostile Indians, leads settlers to a place to live in "Kaintuck", and is almost murdered as he finds out he had inherited a large plantation in the Carolinas.
