This is the story of a very shy boy who took 65 years to become a loving person and husband. Maybe it was his ego or his mind keeping him from doing things that most men do easily. He was the 13th of 14 children so maybe it was because his own parents were too busy trying to "live life and provide for so many children" to show him any affection. He was an unusually sensitive child, letting boyhood events affect his self-esteem and outlook on life from childhood through puberty and even affecting his adult relationships. He came from an Irish and German background. The traits he inherited helped him survive his childhood by putting up safe walls and barriers of defense. He was affected by his baldness at age 22, which made him even more shy. He never made a lifelong friend. He had a hard time expressing his feelings of love to his wife and even his 5 daughters. He seemed to be self absorbed, concentrating on what he needed and what he lacked. But like a cat with nine lives, he always seemed to escape injuries and life's hard knocks. After a mill injury and thoughts of suicide a new person started to emerge at age 50 and his personality started to change. At age 65 his loving wife had 2 very bad strokes. He was to spend the next 6 years as her 24 hour 7 day a week care giver. During that time he became the man his wife had always hoped and prayed he would become. He found the true meaning of love in caring for her day after day. He told her he loved her but by then she was in her own little world. But who is to say she never knew what happened to him, the metamorphosis that took place as he cared for her? Who is to say she didn't hear and understand how he had changed but couldn't let him know by a sign or expression? Only God knows the answer. By caring for her and only thinking of her needs continually, he lost his own shyness, depression, and self indulgence. He stopped worrying about himself and concentrated on others around him. He found he had a heart for other people and their needs. He learned to love life and laugh at himself. This man knows that the his former self is still inside him and he must fight to keep that person hidden. He now looks back at his life and finds humor in the things that happened to him. So now he laughs so not to cry.

Consulting Business Startup SuccessCapitalize on the New Trends & Niches of Today's Consulting BusinessMillion Dollar Startup Solution Since 2000, this industry has seen constant growth year over year, especially during and after the pandemic. This is the newest trend in business. The business world has gotten smarter, slimmer, and meaner. Instead of employing more people, they now rely heavily on hiring consultants.Hiring a consultant is easier; it is a contract job, and these consultants are not on the company's payroll; there are no benefits, no 401K plans, and no health insurance for them. So, companies have fewer expenses and lower legacy costs.Let's now discuss what it takes to be a consultant. Do you need a Ph.D. in a subject to be a consultant? Sure, that will help, but most of us do not have such degrees. In reality, 75% or more of professional consultants in the workforce today do not have more than a Bachelor's degree. Out of that 75 %, around 20% do not even have a Bachelor's degree.Being a consultant is not about having a degree but about knowledge of a specific subject.I have a friend who worked for a solar panel maker for a few years. He recently started his own solar conversion consulting company and is doing very well. The best part is that he never went to college. If you wonder why and how this is possible, think about it: by working at a solar panel-making company, he had plenty of exposure to everything solar. As a consultant, he consults companies on solar conversion and saving energy costs. He is enjoying the fruits of the Green Living movement. If you want to be a consultant, you first need to do soul-searching. Answer these three questions: What are you most passionate about? What topic/subject do you know the most? How can you combine your passion with your knowledge? In this book, I share the nuts and bolts of consulting. It is written as a guide to help you decide how to become a consultant. Here is an inside peek at what you will learn: Part -1Qualifications to become a consultantTypes of consultingThe current state of consulting businessMergers and AcquisitionsEmerging marketsNew LawsNew opportunities in the consulting industryIncreased segmentation and specializationsWorking in Virtual TeamsHow to find a master niche in consultingHow to check your marketable skills and experienceFind out the demands for your skillsDetermining how much clients pay for your skillsSearching for a more profitable niche10 Groundbreaking new consulting niches you can do without a degreeHow to become a master in a nicheHow to become known in a nichePart -2Setting up your consulting businessLicenses, permits, registration, and regulationsSetting up a companyEIN, Bank account, and InsuranceSetting up your officeCreating presentations for clientsPreparing Proposal TemplatesDesigning your price/rate structureHow to negotiate consulting contractNegotiating strategiesGetting ready for your first projectThe Welcome KitCollecting payments and paying taxesBuilding and maintaining relationships to grow your businessBonusSample Contract for Consulting BusinessSample Articles of Incorporation

In Liberalism and Crime, Robert Sullivan offers an alternate way of looking at liberalism, using the usurpation of the welfare state in Britain by a free market-oriented economy as his crucible. Not content with the academic interpretation of liberalism as an offshoot of analytic philosophy, Sullivan has woven together a convincing demonstration that liberalism is born out of an alternative approach—one based in active thought and reasonable argument. The tapestry of this study touches on the breakup of British Marxism, the influence of crime on British polity, and the arguments of Ronald Clarke against 'medical criminology.' Shifting societal responsibility onto the individual citizen, this new, alternative, model of liberalism was fully ushered in by the rise of Margaret Thatcher and continued with Tony Blair and the New Labour movement in the 1990s. Because similar shifts occurred in the United States simultaneously, this argument should be of interest to both general American and British readers, as well as academics in political theory, cultural studies, criminology, and British studies.
