After wandering around looking for someone on this strange world for over a year; Rab makes a home in a remote valley where he lives content, if lonely, until the locals turn up. They are not friendly; they are here to hunt him and he has to escape down river, followed all the way by the last one intent on killing him. After rescuing his pursuer from certain death he keeps him alive and befriends him calls him Eric; only to have him disappear just when they have found a new home and are starting to communicate. He is left on his own to start again; to build a home, when the weather takes a turn for the worse and everything changes.

Or did he? is he actually in hospital connected to a life support machine and this is all a chemically induced dream. About the author Dr. Robert H. Shaw Ph.D. educated in Scotland in the 70's left school with two 'O' levels. He is severely dyslectic and is very thankful for the spell check He received his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering at the age of 51. He has travelled, for work all over the world, during one trip was told he should write about his life as a commissioning engineer, and started to do just that, No one would believe the truth about what engineer got up to, he did not believe it and he was there so started to write ideas for a book.
