"If Nature is infallible, there should be some philosophic or eugenic professor arise and explain why she made such a grievous error in the personal appearance, vocal qualities, and general gestures of the learned judge, astute politician and hopeful statesman, Hon. J. Woodworth-Granger and Mr. James Gollop, perigrinating drummer for a chocolate house. Either the Honorable Judge should have been a commercial traveler, or the commercial traveler a judge."

The Frozen Trail is a historical fiction novel written by Roy Norton. The story is set in the late 1800s in the Yukon Territory during the Klondike Gold Rush. The main character, Pierre Berton, is a French-Canadian fur trapper who is forced to lead a group of prospectors through the frozen wilderness in search of gold. Along the way, they face harsh weather conditions, dangerous animals, and treacherous terrain. The group also encounters a mysterious woman named Grace, who has her own secrets and motives for being in the wilderness. As they continue on their journey, Pierre begins to question his own motivations and values, and must decide whether to continue on with the group or strike out on his own. The Frozen Trail is a gripping tale of survival, adventure, and self-discovery in one of the most unforgiving landscapes on earth. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
