This book is the fourth in the series of statewise volumes on threatened birds of India, and is largely derived from Threatened Birds of India (2012) by Dr. Asad R. Rahmani, published by BNHS/OUP. Information has been updated according to the latest IUCN 2013 Red List for Birds, incorporating the changes in threat status recommended by BirdLife International, UK. The book describes the threatened and near threatened avian species of the state of Uttar Pradesh, with notes on their distribution, ecology, historical records and current distribution. Based on this updated information, appropriate recommendations have been made regarding the conservation action that needs to be taken for each species. The Introduction has been supplemented with short notes on extinct birds of Uttar Pradesh as well as threatened birds likely to be found in the state. Detailed descriptions are given for the species for which Uttar Pradesh holds critical habitats. Shorter descriptions are given for species marginal to the state. The book is intended to be a handy reference for interested readers, as well as decision makers at the state level, where conservation actions are implemented.

The use of feed additives in animal feeds is a common practice in modern livestock production. These non-nutritive substances, preparations, and microorganisms are added to improve growth performance, feed intake, and the efficiency of feed utilization. This book, Animal Feed Additives, provides current information on the use of different animal feed additives for the production, health, and reproduction of livestock and poultry.Written by 30 eminent scientists in the field of animal nutrition, this book contains 25 chapters that highlight the significance of various feed additives, including antioxidants, enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, antimicrobials, organic acids, coccidiostats, mycotoxin binders, immunomodulators, hen egg antibody, hormones, beta agonists, methane inhibitors, defaunating agents, essential oils, and herbal feed additives, among others. These feed additives are essential for sustainable livestock and poultry production and are supported by a good amount of experimental evidence and references. This book is an invaluable resource for students of animal sciences, teachers and scientists in the field of animal nutrition, personnel in the feed industry, field veterinarians, animal husbandry extension workers, and progressive animal farmers.

Wireless Communication-the fundamental and advanced concepts
Wireless communication is one of the fastest growing fields in the engineering world today. Rapid growth in the domain of wireless communication systems, services and application has drastically changed the way we live, work and communicate. Wireless communication offers a broad and dynamic technological field, which has stimulated incredible excitements and technological advancements over last few decades. The expectations from wireless communication technology are increasing every day. This is placing enormous challenges to wireless system designers. Moreover, this has created an ever increasing demand for conceptually strong and well versed communication engineers who understand the wireless technology and its future possibilities. In recent years, significant progress in wireless communication system design has taken place, which will continue in future. Especially for last two decades, the research contributions in wireless communication system design have resulted in several new concepts and inventions at remarkable speed. A text book is indeed required to offer familiarity with such developments and underlying concepts, to be taught in the classroom to future engineers. This is one of the motivations for writing this book. Practically no book can be up to date in this field, due to the fast ongoing research and developments. The new developments are announced almost every day. Teaching directly from the research papers in the classroom cannot build the necessary foundation. Therefore need for a textbook is unavoidable, which is integral to learning, and is an essential source to build the concept. The prime goal of this book is to cooperate in the learning process.

Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) has been identified as an important research area in recent years. Green environmental issues have drawn an attention of researchers and Supply Chain (SC) practitioners at micro and macro level. Thirty six enablers to implement green supply chain management relevant to Indian manufacturing industry have been identified through extensive review of literature. Questionnaire based survey has been conducted to indicate the significance and ranking of identified enablers. With experts' opinions, identified thirty six enablers have been categorized in to eleven enablers based upon their nature. Contextual relationships among these ten enablers have been indentified to further partition the levels. Structural model of these factors has been formed using Interpretive Structural Modeling technique. Further, Classification of these enablers depending upon their driving and dependence power has also been carried out by using Matrice d'Impacts Croises-Multiplication Appliqu a un Classement (MICMAC) analysis. "International Environment Agreements" has been identified as most important enablers and pushing organizations to implement GSCM practices. This paper may play vital role to understand contextual relationships among the enablers to implement Green Supply Chain Management in Indian manufacturing industry.

Networking of personal computers and workstations is becoming commonplace in academic and industrial environments. A cluster of workstations provides engineers with a familiar, cost-effective environment for high performance computing. However, workstations often have no dedicated link and communicate slowly on a local area network (LAN), such as the Ethernet. Thus, to effectively harness the parallel processing or distributed computing capabilities of workstations, new algorithms need to be developed with a higher computation-to-communication ratio. Distributed Computer-Aided Engineering presents distributed algorithms for three fundamental areas: finite element analysis, design optimization, and visualization - providing a new direction in high performance structural engineering computing.
