This is my newest poetry collection, Rose Gold and Blood Moons-my tenth book I've written. It's spiteful, bitter, angry, and heartbroken. There's a rage in this that comes from a series of betrayals so horrible, they can only be described by the words on these pages, and can barely be said aloud. I spent the summer plotting revenge each night and cursing the moon for doing nothing as it watched me crack and fall apart on the pavement, ignoring my desperate cries for help. My only comfort is the copper blush of a better tomorrow, but a hemorrhaging sky makes that almost impossible to see-trapped in the deep shades of crimson grief. This is what the book's about-the delusion and the pain that comes with deception. I hope anyone who's experienced this kind of suffering can relate to it on some level, or can find healing in the outcome of it. As for my "muses," this book is for you-all the ones who did me wrong this year. You know who you are. You know what you did. You know how I feel about you. Look what you made me do now-the werewolf is ready to attack, and no mercy will be given.

MANIC is a book I have wanted to write for years. My mania was something I struggled to put into words and could only hint at in my previous work. It took a few health scares and some courage to finally create this over the course of the past year. I hope that by reading this, you'll discover that those who deal with mania are so much more than having "psychotic" tendencies. Being manic consists of highs and lows, but it can also be a superpower, too. For example, most people who struggle with bipolar disorder are creative and are loving, and filled with passion and strength. This is just my perspective on what I've experienced with my mental health, but I hope it will open your eyes to reducing the stigma that comes with these kinds of illnesses. I can't wait for you to come along for an amazing roller coaster of emotions from this new poetry collection. It's my best writing yet, and the MANIC madness is just beginning.

It started with the bees. I felt so inspired by these tiny beings--seeing how hard they work and how they coexist so well with nature, how they create homes and share a collective goal for survival. Thirty, my seventh poetry book, is about that sort of survival. I feel so much self-love and confidence in myself for the first time in my life. After overcoming so much, I'm overjoyed to have made it to thirty years old. This book is a self-reflection on the past two years and a goodbye letter to my twenties. I've never made a book like this before. While there is some heartbreak, this book is full of positivity and romance, not just with another person, but with me. Self-acceptance is the most extraordinary form of love. I know this now, and hopefully so will you once you read these fifty poems.

My sixth poetry book, The Blues & The Grays, comes 10 years after I graduated high school from a small town. It's a prologue to my first five collections, and it gives you a peek into my teen years from fourteen to eighteen. I took my school colors and used them to illustrate the constant blue heartbreak we experience in those hallways, as well as the gray areas that tend to leave us confused and chaotic. Being in high school, for me, was full of moments that were thrilling, painful, meaningful, awful, and filled with little life lessons along the way. I remember struggling with my sexuality, which is a huge theme for this book, and I'm happy to know that other young teens might read this and know that they are not alone. This book was written for you.

For over 80 years, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) has been a leader in the promotion of ethical practice within the field of engineering. One of the Society’s greatest contributions is the formation and adoption of the NSPE Code of Ethics. But the code, with its six "Fundamental Canons," is only truly instructive if engineers can bridge the gap between principles and action. Here there is no substitute for personal reflection on the ethical and philosophical issues that underlie the code. If done well, such reflection provides an indispensable basis for moral problem solving. Beyond the Code: A Philosophical Guide to Engineering Ethics is designed to complement the NSPE Code of Ethics by helping readers "go beyond" in their understanding of the philosophical issues bound up in the code. Each chapter addresses one of the Fundamental Canons of the NSPE code, and provides a philosophical analysis of the various parts of each canon by employing contemporary and classical texts. This unique approach to engineering ethics guides students and professionals in their readings of the appended selections to refine their understanding of the code in order to apply it to the practical challenges of today’s engineers. Key Features: Is the first introduction to engineering ethics that helps students understand and apply the NSPE Code of Ethics to engineering practiceIncludes a Preface from Arthur E. Schwartz, NSPE Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel, and NAFE Executive DirectorAs a hybrid text, includes primary philosophical texts with extensive introductions and guided reading questions from the book’s three authorsOffers case studies from the NSPE Board of Ethical Review, allowing students to see a direct connection between the issues discussed in the text and real-world engineering practiceIncludes the following pedagogical aids: "Key Terms and Concepts" for each chapter "Preparing to Read" sections before each primary source reading "Guided Reading Questions" after each primary source reading "Going Beyond—Our Questions for a Deep Dive" after each case study.

In my fifth installment, Cabin Fever explores the themes of isolation and anger in my most vulnerable year yet. During the start of this pandemic, I found myself bitter and lonely--finding inspiration from poets like Emily Dickinson and hiding out in the darkest parts of my brain. I also spent a huge part of this past year reevaluating my core beliefs when it comes to politics and human decency. This book is mostly about my encounters or experiences with death: the death of a romantic friendship, the death of an expectation for a loved one, the death of an addictive habit, the death of a traumatic event, the death of some beloved heroes that broke our hearts, the death of a tragic marriage, the death of religion and its consequences, and the death of disillusionment with what we always thought America to be. As horrific and as horrifying as death can be, it is a natural part of life--making way for a new beginning or a fresh start when necessary. Step into the woods with me and wander around in my mind for what is surely my most bold and emotionally turbulent work of art.

Our lives are full of dichotomies: dark versus light, sin versus virtue, right versus wrong, experience versus innocence, young versus old, childhood versus adulthood, pride versus shame, angels versus demons. Many of us grow up to believe that we are either one version of ourselves or another--black or white--and that there is no in-between. The reality is that we all live in shades of gray. There is darkness and light in all of us. The only way to live freely in this life is to find a balance between the two. We must learn to play with the shadows of what we are so afraid of within ourselves if we are to love and appreciate every part of what shapes us as human beings. There are many facets that make us unique and I have learned to embrace the beautiful and the ugly I have been through. This book is my way of bringing light to my dark experiences so that I may earn back an innocence that I once believed was forever lost.

We Scorpios have a negative reputation for being jealous, possessive, secretive, resentful, manipulative, confrontational, and emotionally toxic. While there is some truth to this, we are also brave, loyal, ambitious, and powerful. We are complex. We experience heartbreak and process it in the most unique way. Some of it is cathartic, some of it is destructive. Ultimately, this is a poetry collection about taking on my zodiac identity to express my failures at love, not just romantically, as you will see multiple examples of, but mostly with love of the self. I found comfort in expressing myself authentically, but also in ways that were very unlike me. There are many poems that hold truth and many that you can't trust. That is the beauty of being a Scorpio in the zodiac universe. That is the beauty of being a multi-faceted human being.

This is my debut poetry collection that introduces who I am as a poet, as an artist, and as a human being. I wrote this entire collection in the span of two weeks during Hurricane Harvey. There are high school experiences, college experiences, and experiences I've had as a twenty-four-year-old young man. I was inspired by the chaos and confusion that was manifesting both within my mind and externally around me. This book starts with the poem "Status Quo I," which expresses the turbulent mess that I started off in, and ends with "Status Quo II," a state of peace that I reached as my mind wandered "Into the Eye" of my life's hurricane. It's a stormy path that leads to a dark cave, into dark waters, and onto dry land. There is a whirlwind mess that leads to clarity. This book is how I discovered what it means to go from a boy to a man. I'm excited for you all to read this and get to know me. I'm Scott Hill and this is my coming-of-age story.

"...he is the hero of our story-not a perfect hero/From his lips came dishonesty at times/On sleepless nights he'd cry/wolf instead of counting sheep/He could play the villain the way a fox could play other animals/But he always had noble intentions//From his head, a tale develops/A chapter in his life where he swears to find himself/A race against time/Running from lovers faster than a hare/Loving himself slower than a tortoise//And in the middle of choice and circumstance/Our hero finds himself on a quest for true love/Not a fairy tale love, but a fable love/A love that would teach him many great lessons/On his journey to becoming a better man-a better hero//So our story begins here.../Where will he go?/What will he do?/What will he truly become?"

Into the Eye is a poetry book about the importance of being vulnerable in a time where it may be seen as pure weakness, especially in men. To break stereotypes, Scott Hill, an aspiring poet, shares his life experiences as a twenty-four-year-old struggling with obstacles like depression, anxiety, and the uncertainty that comes with being in your 20s. The collection, written during Hurricane Harvey, reflects one's personal storms and forces readers to take a hard look at their own reflections to find strength in flaws and to find courage in insecurities--embracing what's truly human nature. The book includes 50 original poems and accompanying original photos taken by Kahiah Polidore.
