Understand the principles, practices, and applications of bionanotechnologyThis hands-on textbook covers key aspects of bionanotechnology from an engineering perspective. The book delves into a wide variety of topics, including materials science, micro/nano fabrication, general physics, fluid flow, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry.Developed from an advanced engineering course taught by its authors, Bionanotechnology: Engineering Concepts and Applications fully explains all of the underlying concepts and shows how that theory can be directly applied in practical applications. Readers will get examples, problem sets, real-world case studies, and engineering design methodologies that illustrate each concept. The book contains complete discussions on microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip devices, organ-on-a-chip devices, quantum dots, DNA/RNA technology, micro/nano fabrication techniques, the modelling/simulation of microsystems, and bionanotechnology-based biosensors, targeted therapies, and drug delivery systems.Combines many different bionanotechnology topics into one resourceBased on a course developed and taught by the authors at the University of AlbertaWritten by recognized experts and experienced educators

Most Business Analysts are familiar Use Cases. There are plenty of books about them. Use Cases came into the mainstream for software development in the late 90s and have evolved over time. Some people prefer User Stories, as they are called in agile methodologies. This book will argue that they are essentially the same, it's just what you put into them that might be different. More importantly, I wrote this book to share my insights of the when to write use cases, how to write them lean, and why bother with them at all. This book is focused on use cases and touches on the peripheral competencies that are needed elicit and develop good requirements. A use case writer should also have strong skills in requirements analysis, requirements traceability, and visual modeling. Also, this book follows a philosophy of being a minimalist and keeping to only what adds value to the process. A general knowledge of lean principles is recommended to aide in understanding why some things are important and some are not. There are several good books on the subject.
Introduction to Industrial Engineering: A short overview to help you decide on a career
Industrial Engineering is an exciting field that sometimes seems to be hidden in the background. The goal of writing this book was to give the reader enough information to assess if it might be the right career for them. This book is intended to give the reader a look at some of the many facets of the industrial engineering field. It is deliberately short, gives a glimpse of the day-to-day activities that might be encountered, and includes some personal stories to illustrate the details involved. The intention is to be educational without being tutorial while providing a somewhat comprehensive overview to help the reader decide if industrial engineering might be the right career for them.
