Dog Tag Inc. is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help veterans, their spouses, and those who serve as their caregivers reintegrate into civilian life, focusing on civilian entrepreneurial and employment opportunities. This report describes research to help Dog Tag Inc. better understand how its fellowship program shapes the careers and life trajectories of its alumni.

The UNITE Initiative aims to promote readiness and resilience in the Air Force through events that focus on unit cohesion. The authors describe the results of their evaluation of UNITE and the program's association with unit cohesion, drawing on interviews with UNITE representatives and post-event surveys completed by airmen participants.

Building on prior RAND research that found inconsistencies in how behavioral health technicians (BHTs) were integrated across the Military Health System, researchers surveyed military BHTs and licensed mental health providers who work alongside them to gain insights on BHTs? contributions, training and supervision, and job satisfaction, as well as barriers to better integrating them into clinical practice.

Post-9/11 veterans are at particularly high risk for co-occurring substance use disorders (SUDs) and mental health disorders. Integrated care--in which both SUDs and mental health problems are addressed concurrently--is a recommended form of treatment for these veterans. This report provides guidance and recommendations to support the delivery of quality care for veterans with co-occurring SUDs and mental health disorders.

With the numbers of service members requiring rehabilitation following combat-related amputation decreasing since 2011, provider skills to treat and rehabilitate amputee patients will atrophy if active steps are not taken to mitigate against skill erosion. The authors identify core competencies in which skills should be maintained and improved so that the military medical community is prepared for future conflict and increased patient volume.
