Marvel Masters Of Suspense: Stan Lee & Steve Ditko Omnibus Vol. 1
Before Steve Ditko revolutionized comic book super-heroes with the Amazing Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, he applied his incomparable storytelling mastery to taught suspense-thrillers. These chilling stories were cast with nervous-eyed dreamers and sweaty-palmed schemers, none of whom make it out with getting theirs. They were parables of wrenching psychological tension, expressed by one of comic book's most unique creative minds, and they will leave you curled up and screaming for more-whether you like it or not Marvel is honored to collect Ditko's complete stories of suspense in two beautifully restored Omnibus volumes. From his very fi rst Marvel work in 1956 through to his last five-page masterpiece, every iconic Silver Age Ditko short is collected in these incomparable Omnibus editions. COLLECTING: JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY (1952) 33, 38, 50-73, STRANGE TALES (1951) 46, 50, 67-91, TALES TO ASTONISH (1959) 1-26, TALES OF SUSPENSE (1959) 1-15, 17-24, STRANGE WORLDS (1958) 1-5, WORLD OF FANTASY(1956) 16-19, AMAZING ADVENTURES (1961) 1-6, JOURNEY INTO UNKNOWN WORLDS (1950) 45, 51, MYSTERY TALES (1950) 40, 45, 47, TWO-GUN WESTERN (1956) 4, WORLD OF SUSPENSE (1956) 2, MARVEL TALES (1949) 147, SPELLBOUND (1952) 29, STRANGE TALES OF THE UNUSUAL (1955) 5, ASTONISHING (1951) 53, WORLD OF MYSTERY (1956) 3, 6, BATTLE (1951) 63, GUNSMOKE WESTERN (1955) 66

Outer Limits: The Steve Ditko Archives Vol. 6
Outer Limits features more than 200 meticulously restored, full-color comics pages by Ditko in his early prime. This volume's suspense and mystery stories--thanks to the inspiration Ditko took from space travel comics--heavily weighted to the science fiction genre. Ditko rocketed into the vast outer reaches of the universe to craft tales that tapped into the fears and aspirations of middle America coming to terms with the Cold War and the beginning of the space race with Soviet Russia.
Dripping With Fear: The Steve Ditko Archives Vol. 5
Dripping With Fear: The Steve Ditko Archives Vol. 5 features another 200-plus meticulously restored, full-color pages from Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko in his early prime, at the time working in near anonymity for Charlton Comics in the then-popular horror/suspense genre. Comics like Tales of The Mysterious Traveler and This Magazine Is Haunted saw an explosion in Ditko (TM)s ingenuity, as he manipulated the traditional comic-book page layout with masterful results. It was during this time that Ditko and his art-school colleague, the famed fetish artist Eric Stanton, began sharing a studio in Manhattan. The introduction by editor Blake Bell examines Ditko (TM)s stylistic evolution and delves deep into his association with Stanton. Ditko (TM)s secret collaborations with Stanton on his female bondage material remain a highly controversial topic, and Bell (TM)s introduction highlights numerous examples that prove the allegedly shy and private Ditko contributed with wild abandon to these risqu (c) tales of titillation. This fifth volume stands as the best example yet of the Steve Ditko that would soon begin crafting such iconic classics as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange alongside Stan Lee at Marvel Comics.

Forbidden Planet, The Twilight Zone, The Blob, The Outer Limits, The Day the Earth Stood Still: The 1950s spawned the greatest sci-fi stories ever! Bug-eyed monsters from other worlds invaded our movies, literature, television, and comic books. The young cartoonist, Steve Ditko, honed his storytelling skills throughout the 1950s on mystery, horror, and some of the farthest-out sci-fi comics of all time. Steve Ditko: Space Wars collects a wealth of the Ditko's finest work prior to his world-shaking creation with Stan Lee, Spider-Man! Ditko's eclectic, sometimes surrealistic work proves retro-futuristic as he takes us into the cosmos to find star-crossed lovers in the backstabbing debacle, Dead Reckoning. Then, the deadliest space ship in the galaxy hovers menacingly over us while the invader demands complete surrender and our military warns it's useless to resist in The Conquered Earth! These plus The Creature from Corpus III, The King of Planetoid X, and The Juggernauts of Jupiter are just a sampling of the pulse-pounding tales featured in Steve Ditko: Space Wars.
