Vedanta is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy. Vedanta reflects ideas and philosophies contained in the Upanishads. It does not stand for one comprehensive or unifying doctrine. Ramakrishna (1836-1886) gilt als der gr te Heilige Indiens des 19. Jahrhunderts. Er verbrachte den Gro teil seines Lebens im Kali-Tempel in Dakshineswar bei Kalkutta. Der Klassiker ber Ramakrishna schlechthin ist "Gospel of Ramakrishna" von Mahendranath Gupta (M.), der die letzten vier Jahre des Lebens des Heiligen und seine Botschaft umfasst.
