Why do we have dreams? What do they represent? These are two sought-after questions throughout human history. It was all just a dream offering historical, cultural, and scientific insights into the purpose and interpretations of dreams. Many famous postulated theories, such as dreams representing visions, convey cultural attitudes about human cognitive functioning since the times of Ancient civilizations. Although objective scientific investigations into the biology of dreamlike states may tend to reduce dreams to simply being collections of emotions and ideas, many people continue to believe that dreams serve a higher purpose. The book offers a passage of time into the continued studies of dreams to show the changing interpretations of what dreams may be trying to tell us.
