At age 17, Palestinian Tass Saada ran away to become a PLO sniper, onetime chauffeur for Yasser Arafat, and a Muslim immersed in anti-Israeli activity. As a man he moved to America, started a family, and eventually became a Christian. Then he risked retribution as he returned home to share his faith with his family and former boss. Once an Arafat Man is a story of the ultimate triumph of love over hatred, of reconciliation over divisions. It's a story that can inspire us all to overcome the conflicts in our own lives.

Der Palästinenser Taysir Abu Saada verbrachte seine ersten Lebensjahre in Saudi-Arabien. Als Teenager war er desillusioniert: Die Führer der arabischen Länder hatten ihren Völkern immer wieder versprochen, Israel von der Bildfläche auszuradieren. Aber sie lösten ihr Versprechen nie ein. Er schwor die Palästinenser ein, ihr Schicksal unbedingt in die eigenen Hände zu nehmen! Mit 17 Jahren trat Taysir den Widerstandskämpfern Arafats bei und wurde Fatah-Mitglied. Als Scharfschütze (?Sniper?) lag er auf der Lauer, als Kommandokämpfer führte er Operationen aus. Sein Mottolautete unverrückbar: ?Nur ein toter Jude ist ein guter Jude.?Später wurde Taysir das, was er so ziemlich als Letztes erwartet hätte: Christ. Sein unbändiger Hass verwandelte sich, und plötzlich begann er Juden und Christen zu lieben. Und das führte ihn zurück in seine Heimat und in den Gazastreifen. Doch nun bildet er die Kinder nicht mehr an den Kalaschnikows aus, sondern versucht, Hoffnung zu säen und Versöhnungsarbeit zu leisten. Kurz vor dessen Todkonnte er sogar noch Jassir Arafat besuchen und dem aufmerksamen Palästinenserführer von seinem neuen Glauben erzählen.
