Dieses Lehrbuch behandelt zeitgemäß, anwendungsorientiert und ausführlich die theoretischen Grundlagen der Numerik. Dabei sind – zusätzlich zu den gängigen Inhalten – zahlreiche angewandte Beispiele und Praxis-Exkurse eingebunden, um das Verständnis nachhaltig zu fördern. Beweise werden sehr kleinteilig in vielen detailliert beschriebenen Schritten dargestellt. Auf die sich wiederholenden, zentralen Kernkonzepte der Numerik (z.B. Stabilität, Effizienz, Robustheit, Genauigkeit,…) wird explizit eingegangen, und diese Begriffe werden klar gegeneinander abgegrenzt. Außerdem werden Numerische Verfahren der Linearen Algebra und der Analysis getrennt dargestellt, was den Studierenden den Zugang zur Numerik – ausgehend von den beiden Grundvorlesungen des Mathematik-Studiums – deutlich erleichtert. Das Buch ist daher sowohl für Studierende der Mathematik als auch der Physik, der Informatik oder der Ingenieurwissenschaften bestens geeignet. Für die 2. Auflage wurde das Buch umfassend überarbeitet und erweitert. Unter anderem wurden Aspekte des maschinellen Lernens und neuronaler Netze aufgenommen, der Teil zu Krylow-Raum-Verfahren ausgebaut sowie angegebene Algorithmen durch konkrete Python-Codes ersetzt. Konkrete exemplarische Rechnungen werden nun auch mit diesen Python-Programmen durchgeführt.

Das Buch behandelt die Planung und den Entwurf von Autobahnen und Landstraßen. Aus der Netzplanung heraus werden die Qualitätsansprüche an die Straße hergeleitet. Nach einem Exkurs in die fahrdynamischen Grundlagen werden die Entwurfselemente im Lageplan, im Höhenplan und im Querschnitt beschrieben. Nach einer detaillierten Darstellung der Knotenpunktlösungen erfolgt noch eine Zusammenstellung der erforderlichen Ausstattung. Die zweite Auflage (Titel der ersten Auflage: Planung von Autobahnen und Landstraßen) berücksichtigt die aktuellen Forschungsergebnisse für Autobahnen und Landstraßen der letzten 10 Jahre sowie das aktuell erschienene Merkblatt zur Anwendung der Entwurfsklassen der RAL an bestehenden Landstraßen (M ERL). Ferner werden die zunehmende Bedeutung der Klimaneutralität und die möglichen Maßnahmen im Straßenentwurf thematisiert.

The book covers the planning and design of highways and country roads. The quality requirements for the road are derived from the network planning. After an excursus into the fundamentals of driving dynamics, the design elements are described in the site plan, in the height plan and in cross-section. After a detailed presentation of the intersection solutions, the necessary equipment is compiled.This book is a translation of the original German 1st edition Planung von Autobahnen und Landstraßen by Richter Thomas published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2016. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation. Springer Nature works continuously to further the development of tools for the production of books and on the related technologies to support the authors.

This open access publication discusses exclusionary rules in different criminal justice systems. It is based on the findings of a research project in comparative law with a focus on the question of whether or not a fair trial can be secured through evidence exclusion. Part I explains the legal framework in which exclusionary rules function in six legal systems: Germany, Switzerland, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the United States. Part II is dedicated to selected issues identified as crucial for the assessment of exclusionary rules. Special attention is given to the derivation of variational formulations for the subproblems describing fluid- and solid-mechanics as well as the coupled fluid-structure interaction problem. Two monolithic formulations for fluid-structure interactions are described in detail: the well-established ALE formulation and the modern Fully Eulerian formulation, which can effectively deal with problems featuring large deformation and contact. Further, the book provides details on state-of-the-art discretization schemes for fluid- and solid-mechanics and considers the special needs of coupled problems with interface-tracking and interface-capturing techniques. Lastly, advanced topics like goal-oriented error estimation, multigrid solution and gradient-based optimization schemes are discussed in the context of fluid-structure interaction problems.

Im Zusammenhang mit Immaterialgüterrechten wie Marken, Patenten und dem Urheberrecht genießen das Territorialitätsprinzip und die daraus fließende Anwendung des Schutzlandrechts international Anerkennung. Thomas Richter untersucht die Zulässigkeit und Reichweite der Rechtswahl im Immaterialgüterrecht de lege lata und de lege ferenda. Dabei geht er insbesondere auf die Bedeutung der Rechtswahl für das dingliche Verfügungsgeschäft beziehungsweise die Abgrenzung zwischen Vertragsstatut und dinglichem Statut sowie die Zulässigkeit einer Rechtswahl bei der Verletzung von Immaterialgüterrechten ein. Die Untersuchung erfolgt rechtsvergleichend anhand der bestehenden Kollisionsregeln in der EU, den USA und der Schweiz und bezieht die Lösungsansätze von Modellgesetzen mit ein. Abschließend entwickelt Thomas Richter auf Grundlage der kollisionsrechtlichen Dogmatik neue Regeln unter Berücksichtigung des Interesses der Parteien an Rechtssicherheit und niedrigen Transaktionskosten sowie marktordnungsrechtlicher Erfordernisse im Bereich der Immaterialgüter.

English summary: The study of the Hurrian-language is currently confronted with a rather unbalanced and still quite limited textual tradition. The reworking of names, which without a doubt represents the most extensive "corpus" of the language, is of the utmost importance. This volume is the first in a series in which collects and edits Hurrian names of all types from various places and times of transmission. Thomas Richter has undertaken with this first attempt to collect an extensive body of Hurrian personal names and to analyze this data from a linguistic point-of-view in light of the most recent scholarly findings. The starting point for this research is the recent scholarly findings regarding the morphology and grammar of Hurrian, taken as a whole, with the names viewed as a particular case. This study considers itself as chiefly a lexical work, which is at pains to expand the as-yet-only incompletely known Hurrian lexicon. In addition, the morphemic categories of the name and parts of the name, especially those parts of verbs in verbal compound-word names (Satznamen), are at the heart of this study. This book makes accessible various registers and indices. German description: Die hurritologische Forschung ist derzeit mit einer recht unausgewogenen und immer noch recht begrenzten Textuberlieferung konfrontiert. Die Aufarbeitung des Namensgutes, das zweifellos das umfangreichste "Korpus" der Sprache darstellt, ist daher ein dringendes Gebot. Dieser Band ist der erste einer Reihe, die hurritische Namen aller Art und unterschiedlichster Uberlieferungs(zeit)raume zusammenstellt und bearbeitet. Thomas Richter unternimmt hier den erstmaligen Versuch, ein umfangreiches Korpus hurritischer Personennamen zusammenzustellen und es anhand der neuesten Forschungsergebnisse unter sprachlichen Gesichtspunkten zu analysieren. Ausgangspunkt sind dabei die zuletzt erzielten Erkenntnisse zur Morphologie und Grammatik des Hurritischen insgesamt wie auch der Namen im Speziellen. Die Studie versteht sich als eine vornehmlich lexikalische, die bestrebt ist, das momentan nur unvollstandig bekannte Lexikon zu erweitern. Daneben stehen die morphematischen Kategorien der Namen und der Namenglieder, vor allem diejenigen des Verbums in Verbalsatznamen, im Mittelpunkt der Darstellung. Verschiedene Register und Indizes erschliessen das Buch.
