For three months, December 2013 thru February 2014, I read the Bible...as if it were a book. I stripped away the traditional devotional aspect and plunged in. The results were illuminating. I took notes. I recorded every time God (or someone else ) smites someone. I jotted down pop culture references waiting to happen. I discovered a Jewish Game of Thrones And I struggled to reconcile the changing face of faith. I found unclaimed heroes. Generally, I found a book that is as fascinating, and even entertaining, today as it's ever been.
