In this personal collection of 70+ letters from Vietnam, the raw honesty of one homesick teenage boy speaks for every lonely soldier at war. Huey crew chief Larry Smith grew into a hardened man in his First Cavalry helicopter while his little sister Tracy started kindergarten back in New Jersey and memorized the sounds of combat from the black and white television. This dual perspective unveils the war's invasion on the whole family as they revered every envelope and suffered alongside their hero. In December 1967, Larry turned 19 as battles intensified and his letters darkened, making his promise to return home harder to keep, or even believe. Decades after the war, as he laid in a coma, Tracy discovered her brother's letters and vowed to find Army friends he lost to uncover the whole truth of his war. She found a boy she never knew, innocent, fearful, and fearless, full of many words, then silenced. These truths offer a two-fold lesson and make the case for generational trauma in the mental health realm: children do not belong in war, nor should they watch one unfold on television.

There's no place like home, except when you go visit Grandma. Last year I didn't have a chance to visit Grandma because of the Covid-19 virus. I thought about all the things we did together, the things she taught me, and my favorite meal. I told Mom how much I missed Grandma and our special time. She told me not worry because I was going to see Grandma during Spring Break. I was so excited I could not wait until Spring Break. I will cherish those days for the rest of my life.

Isn't it an honor to have the ability to pray directly to a loving and concerned God such as ours? Just think of the many times that He has delivered for you and honored your requests However, there are times when we do not get the results that we expect from God. Have you ever wondered why this happens?"Who Told You That I Changed" off ers the reader scriptural directives as well as testimonials to give Divine understanding of how to "believe" eff ectively. Remember Jesus' word of encouragement to the disciple Thomas, "Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed " (John 20:29). My prayer today is that "Who Told You That I Changed" will help those who read it to "fully" grow in their confi dence in God hearing their prayer requests, and "fully" believe that our Lord is willing to carry out those requests

There were two young girls bopping around the house in typical high energy fashion before bedtime. They were a continuous announcement of the latest nugget of knowledge they had learned and ready to share with their mother and father (who probably taught it to them anyway). Guess what?...and do you know what? Months ago the father began to reply with obvious facts, for example: the sky is blue, water is wet, and chickens have feathers. Working hard at avoiding the efforts of their parents, the two little girls were not on their way to bed yet. The oldest girl nearly four and full of chatter thought that if she spoke louder and faster the parents might get distracted. The younger diaper-wrapped sibling tagged along as the loyal shadow. The next demand from the mother came with the dreaded countdown. One Two The girls broke from their parade and ran like a bolt to their room. The older daughter still self engaged in conversation lead the stampede through the living room with a loud and do you know what? The trailing shadow immediately cried out chickens have feathers The two disappeared to the back bed room. It was in those next few moments Danny was born. I hope you like it.
