As mulheres tribais na ndia s o trabalhadoras e contribuem significativamente para o rendimento familiar, mas as suas fontes de rendimento s o limitadas. Como o progresso socioecon mico da comunidade est diretamente ligado ao empoderamento das mulheres, este tornou-se uma das preocupa es mais importantes do s culo XXI e, por isso, o Governo de Gujarat tomou v rias iniciativas para empoderar economicamente e financeiramente as mulheres do estado. Nesse sentido, o conceito de SHGs foi levado em considera o e um novo yojana chamado "Sakhi Mandal" foi lan ado em 2 de fevereiro de 2007. Considerando a import ncia do empoderamento das mulheres no contexto atual e o papel deste yojana no empoderamento das mulheres, a presente investiga o intitulada Papel do Sakhi Mandal no empoderamento das mulheres tribais no distrito de Navsari foi realizada durante o ano de 2017-2018. Foram selecionadas 100 mulheres tribais respondentes, seguindo um m todo de amostragem aleat ria simples, de dez aldeias selecionadas de dois talukas selecionados do distrito de Navsari.

The tribal women in India are hardworking and they contribute significantly towards their family income but their incom egenerating sources are limited. As the socio -economic progress of the community has a direct link with the empowerment of women, it has become one of the most important concerns of 21 st century and thus, the Government of Gujarat taken many initiatives to empower th e women of state economically and financially. In this, a concept of SHGs was takeninto an account and a new yojana named as "Sakhi Mandal" was launched on Feb. 2, 2007. Considering the importance of women empowerment in present context and role of this yojana in women empowerment the present investigation entitled, "Role of Sakhi Mandal in empowerment of tribal women in Navsari district" was undertaken during the year 2017-2018. 100 respondent tribal women were selected following simple random sampling me thod from ten selected villages of two selected talukas from Navsari district.
