One of the key motivations and goals for China's social and economic development is the dual carbon target. Building is one of the most important sectors to reduce emissions and save energy, accounting for more than 20% of China's primary energy consumption and carbon emissions. This book analyzes the energy consumption of China's buildings sector in four categories, their characteristics and technologies to improve energy efficiency, and examines the greenhouse gas emissions of China's buildings, including building construction embodied emission and building operation emissions. In particular, this book discusses the ways to achieve carbon neutrality targets for China's public and commercial building sectors. This book also analyzes the energy mix, energy intensity, and technological prospects for achieving energy and carbon targets in the public and commercial building sectors. This book contains a large amount of survey data, monitoring data, and case studies. The debate on technologies and policies is underpinned by a variety of evidence and research that has been ongoing for more than a decade. The information, data, and policy recommendations will be of interest to a national and international audience working in the fields of energy, climate change, engineering, and building science.

Dynamic Well Testing in Petroleum Exploration and Development, Second Edition, describes the process of obtaining information about a reservoir through examining and analyzing the pressure-transient response caused by a change in production rate. The book provides the reader with modern petroleum exploration and well testing interpretation methods, including their basic theory and graph analysis. It emphasizes their applications to tested wells and reservoirs during the whole process of exploration and development under special geological and development conditions in oil and gas fields, taking reservoir research and performance analysis to a new level. This distinctive approach features extensive analysis and application of many pressure data plots acquired from well testing in China through advanced interpretation software that can be tailored to specific reservoir environments.

Temperature and Humidity Independent Control (THIC) of Air-conditioning System focuses on temperature and humidity independent control (THIC) systems, which represents a new concept and new approach for indoor environmental control. This book presents the main components of the THIC systems, including dehumidification devices, high-temperature cooling devices and indoor terminal devices. Other relevant issues, such as operation and control strategy and case studies, are also included. This book is intended for air-conditioning system designers and engineers as well as researchers working with indoor environments.Xiaohua Liu is an associate professor at the Building Energy Research Center, Tsinghua University, China. Yi Jiang is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the director of the Building Energy Research Center, Tsinghua University, China and the director of the China-USA Joint Research Center on Clean Energy. Tao Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate at the Building Energy Research Center, Tsinghua University, China.
