In pursuit of the question of law, Young Kim explores foundational political and moral concerns and develops a new normative theory of law. This theory of law may be stated as two principles, in lexical priority, as follows: First Principle: One should obey those laws of legal-rational political authority that do not otherwise violate societal norms and customs.Second Principle: Government should only enforce rules of human behavior of legitimate legal-rational political authority. This view understands the foundation of law to be political, including the power to enforce rules. Thus, as this book argues, the question of law is seen primarily as a question of obedience – whether and in what circumstances it is appropriate to obey the law. Kim further subscribes to the view that law should serve the demands of justice; in particular, the theory of justice as right actions, which is led by moral concerns.

The moral inquiry into the nature of justice is often marginalized, as contemporary discussions focus primarily on political considerations. Yet, the need to examine the moral framework of justice is fundamental. What is the point of justice, after all, if not to establish a moral framework for political interactions? The question resonates especially when recognizing that no monocultures exist over time and space. In examining Plato’s thoughts on individual and social morality (dikaiosune) and Aristotle’s focus on individual virtue (arête) and the pursuit of well-being (eudaimonia), the author proffers foundational resources for today’s discussions of justice. Moreover, he brings this nexus of thought into conversation with theories that have emerged over the centuries, such as Kant’s concept of due concern and respect, individual rights and responsibilities as in Hobbes, Locke and J.S. Mill. Thus, he engages contemporary disputes of justice including distributive vs. relational schemes, choice vs. chance considerations, group rights theories, value pluralism, the right vs. the good, as well as international and future justice. His inquiry concludes with the provision of a deontological framework set against a liberal political context, justice as right actions, for further examination of questions of justice.
This book is a journey I took where I sought to undercover the ultimate truth of the universe in which we inhabit. First, I began with the idea that there has been an alien presence which has followed human history since the beginning of time. I began by outlining ancient alien theory, and then moved onto modern day alien sightings. I knew that there was something vastly paranormal going on. I chronicled many great scientific minds who speculated that there was something behind the scenes. From there, I introduced the radical notion that the universe, or indeed all of existence, is one giant computer simulated reality. I put forth the notion that in the beginning, at the dawn of time, there was a "Source Consciousness" which was an all powerful "Awareness" with infinite creative impulses, and one with great love. It had infinite energy, intelligence, and knowledge. It was all alone in existence, and sought to have something to love and to seek adventures. Thus, it created the universe. And so came us.
Our society is obsessed with the "quick fix" for just about everything. This includes our fixation with taking medications. When people feel anxious, they are too quick to listen to the medical community which prescribes them a deadly solution. Benzodiazepines and Seroquel work iniitially, and sometimes all too well. Therefore, people continue down this dangerous path to become addicted. This is a guidebook on how to get off of these terribly dangerous drugs. I included all the current strategies of how best to taper off of the drugs, and included chapters on herbal remedies, and coping methods. I truly hope that my story and my research will help others get on a path to freedom from these medications. With patience, fortitude, courage, and a steadfast determined heart, I think eventually victory can be attained. Once liberated, I think it should be the mission of all to spread the word to others so that more people do not become afflicted as well. Namaste...
I wrote this book to add to the incredible stories of people who have seen the other side of the veil. I wanted to share in my own words some of the eternal knowings I gained. Such as: love does not arise from life, but rather life arises out of love. Love is the breath inside each and every one of us. It makes us who we are. We were molded out of love and came to Earth to experience what it is like to be human. God created, or rather BECAME, the Universe to answer the question, "Who am I?" and to engage Himself in the ultimate theater or musical. I wanted to share what I learned when I merged with Source and understood the reasons for everything, including all of our sufferings and setbacks. I understood the nature of the polarity of existence (how you cannot understand joy without despair, patience without frustration, etc.). This world was created for our benefit, so that we can grow our love and eventually return to the Creator. I hope some will find my words peaceful and useful in their lives.
Justice as Right Actions presents an original theory of justice anchored in the analytical philosophical tradition. In contrast to many contemporary approaches, the theory provides normative guidance, rather than focusing solely on political structures and institutions, as the question of justice is seen to comprise both a moral inquiry concerned with questions of good and bad, right and wrong, and a political inquiry, concerned with the nature of the polity and how individuals relate to it. Presenting a relational account of justice, rather than a distributive account – the latter, so much more prevalent in current studies – communications are seen as the key to the theory, both in the substantive sense as a discursive method of resolving disputes, as well as instrumentally, in the transmission of concepts, especially values through time. Rule-oriented in approach, justice as right actions attempts to be value-neutral, acknowledging, however, an underlying thin theory of the good, including concepts of rationality, autonomous moral agency, equal concern and respect for others, as well as plurality of values. Its political context is liberalism, with components of negative liberty and equality of concern and respect, while underscoring as well, the concepts of tolerance and social diversity. In this study, the original theory of Justice as Right Actions is also contrasted with and situated among contemporary accounts of justice, including the most important theoretical works on the topic in the past half-century. Thus, the study also serves as a valuable review and critique of such major contemporary accounts of justice.
This is just a book that chronicles my journeys driving for Lyft and Uber over a one year period. I thought it would be so much fun to share with other some highly entertaining rides. From picking up drug dealers to move their supplies, bringing men to see their prostitutes, to witnesses big concerts and sporting events, and bringing older Jewish ladies to the hair salon, I have seen it all in a year of bringing people around Chicago. Please tag along as I give advice on how to be a better drivers, and share with you some of the funniest rides I have experienced.
My name is Young Kim and I wanted to share my personal experiences with DMT in this book. A while I ago I had a near death experience which led me to seek out the molecule released during these traumatic events and at birth and death. DMT is known to be the substance behind these experiences and I sought to use it in order to explore the very boundaries of the mind and the soul. The following book was my own journey which lasted a week in South America. What I unveiled made me completely reevaluate my understanding of consciousness. I came to some incredible discoveries on this sacred ancient molecule and I truly believe anyone seeking profound answers in their lives and those who are suffering with deep traumas would be greatly helped by taking the molecule in a safe set and setting.
This is a book which explores how to life a live with a lot less suffering and anxiety. It tries to answer the question as to how and why modern society programs its citizens for unhappiness. It talks about the dangers of listening to main stream media and argues that advertising is so dangerous to one's peace of mind. There are many strategies of how to change one's thought processes to have less attachments to the material world. The book explores the science of happiness and what makes people content in general. The book addresses how the primary battle in this life is not with other people but mainly with one's own mind. There are various philosophies brought up including Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, and Stoicism. It is discussed how many of the timeless messages can be of service in one's life during difficult periods. The book argues that the goal of spiritual awakening is paramount to one's lasting bliss and happiness. Finally, the book maintains that we are one universal consciousness.
There is widespread agreement that the world's most successful developing countries in the 1980s were those in Southeast Asia. Following in the footsteps of postwar Japan and more recently Korea, the populations of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines have made enormous strides in income, industrial and agricultural production, exports, education, health, nutrition, consumption, and other development indicators. This book brings together political scientists, economists, officials of Asian governments, the United States, and representatives of the multilateral banks to analyze and explain Southeast Asia's extraordinary growth.Chapters and contributors to The Southeast Asian Economic Miracle include: "Recent Developments and Future Prospects of Indonesia" by Anwar Nasution; "The Economic Experience and Prospects of Thailand" by Sukhumbhand Paribatra; "The Development of the Former Indochina States" by Frederick Brown; "Trade and Investment in Southeast Asian Development" by Stephen Parker; and "Managing Renewable Resources in Southeast Asia: The Problem of Deforestation" by Gareth Porter.Among the critical questions that the contributors address are: Is the success of the 1980s and early 1990s a permanent part of the world's economic landscape? How will this region react to the growth of China's vast productive capacity and to the faltering of Japan's economy? What will be the effect of U.S. military disengagement caused by domestic budgetary concerns and the end of the cold war? The Southeast Asian Economic Miracle is an important study of the shifting winds of the political economy of growth in our time—the movement away from a command to a free market environment. It will be an essential resource for political scientists, Asia area scholars, economists, and policymakers.
