The Experience is the first in a series of three personal development workbooks based on concepts covered in the self-help book "Freedom To Change." This therapy workbook is designed to help you find your True Path in life and discover your True or Higher Self. It also introduces Self-Coaching, a concept where you are encouraged to become your own mentor and evaluate your behaviors, goals, and aspirations. This rebt workbook focuses on teaching how to get into the present moment, in a way that allows you to gain an understanding of your true path in life and to practice making conscious choices about situations you face in life. You are here, at this place and moment in your life, and maybe you aren't sure how or why you got here. Maybe you think the road that brought you here was a series of random coincidences that led you to more randomly presented possibilities. In addition, you are perhaps uncertain or fearful of where your present path is going to lead you. We want you to understand that your path in life is up to you. This self help program is a starting point, but the truth is that every moment in life can be seen as a starting point. The Experience contains 30 exercises with space provided between exercises for journaling. The workbook is structured to help guide you, day by day, toward a better and more meaningful life.

This unorthodox book derives and tests a simple theory of economic time series using several well-known empirical economic puzzles, from stock market bubbles to the failure of conventional economic theory, to explain low levels of inflation and unemployment in the US.Professor Stanley develops a new econometric methodology which demonstrates the explanatory power of the behavioral inertia hypothesis and solves the pretest/specification dilemma. He then applies this to important measures of the world's economies including GDP, prices and consumer spending. The behavioral inertia hypothesis claims that inertia and randomness (or 'caprice') are the most important factors in representing and forecasting many economic time series. The development of this new model integrates well-known patterns in economic time series data with well-accepted ideas in contemporary philosophy of science.Academic economists will find this book interesting as it presents a unified approach to economic time series, solves a number of important empirical puzzles and introduces a new econometric methodology. Business and financial analysts will also find it useful because it offers a simple, yet powerful, framework in which to study and predict financial market movements.
Three distinguished experts share cutting-edge insights on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), showing why it occurs, how it affects the development and existence of those it impacts, and how it can be treated.Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a comprehensive and thoughtful examination of the nature, causes, and treatment of PTSD. Drawing on the vast experience of its team of authors, the book details the insidious nature and history of PTSD, from the internal and external factors that cause this form of suffering to the ways it manifests itself psychologically and socially. The most cutting-edge research on treatment, intervention, and prevention is thoroughly discussed, as are the spiritual and psychological strengths that can emerge when one progresses beyond the label of "disorder."The book begins with a historical review of the topic. Subsequent chapters offer in-depth exploration of the significant foundations, function, impacts, and treatments associated with PTSD. Each chapter addresses practical issues, incorporating case studies that bring the information to life and ensure an appreciation of the myriad social, psychological, and biological experiences surrounding PTSD. This book answers complex questions like "How does PTSD manifest itself?" and more critically: "How can its effects be mitigated or overcome?" Finally, it discusses how PTSD survivors can move beyond post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic strengths.
"These poems enter (sometimes gently, sometimes brutally), the quiet sanctuary of fiction we live in daily but choose to ignore. Miriam's keen observation of the fictions takes us on a journey to understanding the complexities of self and day-to-day survival in this irrational world created by the human mind." - EJ Antonio "Driving the Celexa offers an empathic mix of poems with the overarching theme of surviving with one's sanity intact. Miriam Stanley is at her best when she's closely observing the daily routines of her fellow New Yorkers. Her work gives us a glimpse of the future while understanding one can't escape the baleful grip of history: Lessons well worth remembering in these perilous times. Read these poems with an open heart, you will be rewarded." - Danny Shot "Miriam Stanley's work evokes truth. We live in a society where the basic fundamentals is to tell the truth. If you are interested in the truth read this work. Miriam is rhythmic and lyrical but not overbearing." - Robert Gibbons
Pathways to Lasting Self-Esteem is based on the author's experience as a psychotherapist with his low self-esteem clients. Dr. Gross recognizes the tenacity of low self-esteem, yet he affirms that much can be done to raise it. In Pathways to Lasting Self-Esteem he distinguishes his unique approach to raising self-esteem from the many superficial manipulations commonly ineffective in making a durable impact. The book follows a stepwise method that provides practical guidance in a skill-oriented route for the journey. Pathways to Self-Esteem recognizes four levels for the development of self-esteem each featuring distinct dilemmas, goals, tasks, and skills. Readers will find the challenge to change buffered by hope to counter despair and safe options to offset fear.
