Diese sechs Tools f r die Planung von Lernangeboten lassen sich analytisch voneinander unterscheiden, miteinander erg nzen und repr sentieren somit einen jeweils anderen didaktischen Zugang zum Gegenstandsfeld der politischen Bildung (vgl. Sander, 2007: 190). Somit erm glichen sie einen abwechslungsreichen und auf das Thema abgestimmten Unterricht. Es handelt sich hierbei um themen bergreifende Handlungsempfehlungen, die der Lehrkraft bei der Planung, Durchf hrung und Auswertung von Lehreinheiten helfen soll. Bei der Handlungsorientierung werden die Lernenden an einzelne Themen durch aktives Handeln herangef hrt ("learning by doing"). Lerngegenst nde sollen so strukturiert und ausgew hlt werden, dass die Lernenden mannigfaltige Gelegenheiten zu einem aktiv handelnden Umgang mit ihnen erhalten. Durch dieses Prinzip soll vor allem die Handlungskompetenz der Lernenden geschult und ausgepr gt werden. Ziel ist die freie und selbstst ndige Meinungsbildung der Lernenden, sowie deren Umsetzung und Vertretung (vgl. Sander, 2007: 198). In dem didaktischen Prinzip der Sch lerorientierung, auch Adressatenorientierung genannt, wirken Lernende an der Gestaltung des Unterrichts mit. Lerngegenst nde sollen demnach so gew hlt werden, dass sie die Lernenden als Subjekt ernst nehmen, ihre Lebenserfahrung und Lerninteresse ber cksichtigen und an ihrem Vorwissen und ihren Voreinstellungen ber Politik anschlussf hig sind (vgl. Sander, 2007: 191). Dadurch wird erreicht, dass der Unterricht nicht fernab des Interesses und Verst ndnisses der Lernenden f r politische Themen besteht und ein hoher politischer Realit ts- und Praxisbezug gesichert wird und selbst komplizierte Lernprozesse

Dennoch ergaben sich erst im Laufe der geschichtlichen Entwicklung die bis heute so bedeutungsvollen Begriffe wie Freiheit, Volk, Recht und Gesetz, sowie der Begriff des Staates, mit welchen sich das politische Aussehen der sozialen Gemeinschaften zunehmend ver nderte. Der Staat als gesellschaftlich, ordnende politische Instanz wurde Grundlage, Gegenstand und Instrument politischer Theorie und Ideengeschichte sowohl in der Antike, im Mittelalter, in der Neuzeit als auch in der Moderne. Diese Vorstellung verdeutlicht den Gegenstand dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit, welche sich im Folgenden mit einem Vergleich der staatstheoretischen Vorstellungen von Thomas Hobbes und John Stuart Mill befassen wird. Trotz der sehr unterschiedlichen historischen Kontexte beider Theoretiker, wird anhand signifikant gew hlter Analysekategorien ein Vergleich im Hinblick auf ihr jeweiliges Staatsverst ndnis durchf hrbar. Grundlage dieses theoretischen Vergleiches bilden hierbei die Texte "Leviathan" von Thomas Hobbes sowie " ber die Freiheit" und "Das Laisser-faire-Prinzip" von John Stuart Mill. Zu Beginn werden die zugrunde gelegten Menschenbilder und der Freiheitsbegriff der beiden Theoretiker erl utert und verglichen. Im Anschluss daran werden die Entstehung des jeweiligen Staates und die Prinzipien der Staatsf hrung betrachtet. Tantra has formed an integral part of Asian religious history for centuries, but since "Arthur Avalon" introduced the concept to a global readership in the early twentieth century, Tantric traditions have exploded in popularity. While it was long believed that Sir John Woodroffe stood behind Avalon, it was in fact mainly a collaboration between learned South Asians. Julian Strube considers Tantra from the Indian perspective, offering rare insight into the active roles that Indians have played in its globalization and re-negotiation in local Indian contexts. In the early twentieth century, Avalon's publications were crucial to Tantra's visibility in academia and the recognition of Tantra's vital role in South Asian culture. South Asian religious, social, and political life is inexorably intertwined with various Tantric scriptures and traditions, especially in Shaiva and Shakta contexts. In Bengal, Tantra was central to cultural dynamics including Vaishnava and Muslim currents, as well as universalist tendencies incorporating Christianity and esoteric movements such as New Thought, Spiritualism, and Theosophy. Global Tantra contextualizes struggles about orthodoxy and reform in Bengal, and explores the global connections that shaped them. The study elides boundaries between academic disciplines as well as historical and regional contexts, providing insights into global debates about religion, science, esotericism, race, and national identity.

Die Studie behandelt den religiösen Charakter der wichtigsten sozialistischen Strömungen unter der Julimonarchie und ihr erstaunliches Fortbestehen in neuen religiösen Bewegungen in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Als roter Faden dient dabei die Entwicklung des radikalen Sozialisten Alphonse-Louis Constant (1810-1875), der unter dem Pseudonym Eliphas Lévi als Begründer des Okkultismus gilt. Die umfangreiche Kontextualisierung seiner Schriften zeigt, dass er seine okkultistischen Ideen nicht etwa in einem „esoterischen“ Kontext entwickelte, sondern vor dem Hintergrund sozialistischer und so genannter „neo-katholischer“ Diskurse. Die dabei gewonnenen Einblicke erlauben die Hinterfragung festgeschriebener Rollen auf der Bühne der europäischen Religionsgeschichte. So erweist sich die weit verbreitete Annahme eines Antagonismus zwischen fortschrittlichen sozialistischen und reaktionären religiösen Kräften, der seinen Höhepunkt in der laïcité gefunden habe, als irreführend. Ebenso wird in diesem Zusammenhang die Notwendigkeit einer Neubewertung von Esoterik verdeutlicht. Dies ermöglicht nicht nur neue Sichtweisen auf die Politikgeschichte, sondern auch auf kontrovers diskutierte Prozesse der Modernisierung und Säkularisierung.
