Seconda edizione de Il mio amico Giulio Cesare. La guerra contro Pompeo . Qualche modifica migliorativa al testo ma sostanza immutata: la rivisitazione, il remake, del De bello civili di Cesare. Un capolavoro, un'opera che sembra scritta ieri, come ha affermato lo storico Giovanni Ferrara nella prefazione di una delle tante edizioni: "......Solo una lettura e rilettura assidua riveler la ricchezza segreta e la fosca attualit dei Commentari della guerra civile". Unter den Personen, die in der Fruhen Neuzeit eine Reise unternahmen, bilden Diplomaten einen hohen Anteil. Welche Vorbereitungen waren zu treffen? Unter welchen Bedingungen fanden diese Reisen statt? Welche Eindrucke hinterliessen sie bei den Akteuren? Informationen dazu geben zahlreiche zeitgenossische Quellen. Im Zentrum dieser Publikation steht die Edition mit Ubersetzung, Kommentar und Analyse der bislang unveroffentlichten Reiseberichte des Pompeo Vizani, der 1581 den Nuntius Santacroce an den Kaiserhof Rudolfs II. nach Prag begleitete. Sie lassen die bereisten Gegenden und Orte vor Augen treten und spiegeln Streckenverlauf, Jahreszeit und soziale Bedingungen der Reisen wider. Daneben wurden knapp 30 Berichte von Reisen geistlicher Diplomaten ausgewertet, um die Vizani-Texte in einen grosseren kulturgeschichtlichen Kontext einzubetten.
