Richard is bleeding profusely, but manages to elude the bumbling outlaw gang before sliding from his horse. Jane's spiritual upbringing will not allow her to abandon Richard when she finds him lying unconscious on the trail. Together, they learn respect for each other and the skills each brings to the adventures, challenges and dangers they encounter on their unexpected journey.
