Per superare questo problema si utilizzano sistemi di inseguimento solare per aumentare la capacit e migliorare le prestazioni del pannello fotovoltaico. Generalmente i controllori PID convenzionali vengono utilizzati per controllare sistemi lineari e con ritardo trascurabile. Per il controllo di sistemi non lineari i controllori convenzionali non funzionano in modo efficace, quindi per questi sistemi sono necessarie tecniche di controllo intelligenti.
