Elroy the eel is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: Elroy shows young readers that being thankful makes you feel happy. The story and illustrations also teach readers about eels and other marine life.Elroy lives near the bottom of the ocean. He doesn't have any friends because his sharp teeth frighten the other sea creatures and he often enjoys giving them a fright on purpose. But Elroy does not mind. The sea creatures decide to follow Elroy to see how being thankful can make you feel happy. They hear Elroy talking to himself about the beautiful plants and coral and rocks around him. He thinks the ocean is a magical place and he is so lucky to live there. The other creatures also see how much Elroy enjoys swimming and hiding and looking at everything around him. They start being more thankful and come to understand that the more thankful they are, the happier they feel too.This book is part of the exciting Sea stories series, a set of little stories with big lessons.
