Vi får läsa om Guds människoblivande, frälsningen, helvetet, uppståndelsen, det eviga livet och mycket mer. Joseph Ratzinger var då denna bok skrevs professor i teologi vid universitetet i Tübingen. 1977 utnämndes han till kardinal och 1981–2005 var han prefekt för Troskongregationen i Rom. 2005 valdes han till påve och antog namnet Benedikt XVI.
